On October 10, Lauren Scruggs, 35, and Jason Kennedy, 41, welcomed their second child, Poppy Ford Kennedy, into the world.
The couple announced their daughter’s birth in a joint Instagram post on Friday that started off, “I’m sure your feed could use some good news today.”
A series of photos showed their infant asleep at the hospital and crying recently after her birth.
The caption continued, “We wanted to share that our angel, Poppy Ford Kennedy, arrived on 10•10 and she’s giving all of you a big hug right now.” They signed off the note from all the family.
Extra host Mario Lopez commented, “Congrats!” on the post.
Kennedy’s former E! News co-host Giuliana Rancic wrote, “What a blessing 🙏 We love her and your family so much ❤️❤️💙💖.”
Scruggs, a fashion blogger, and Kennedy revealed Scruggs’ pregnancy in April via Instagram, with a video where they explained a positive pregnancy test to their 1-year-old son, Ryver.
The post was captioned, “This was a major surprise and the sweetest plot twist — I cannot wait to watch little Ryver be a big brother 🤭🤍👶🏼”
Scruggs and Kennedy have been married since December 2014.
Before Ryver’s birth, Kennedy and Scruggs were very open about their five-year struggle to conceive.
“We quickly realized that posting about our story welcomed us into a community of people going through the same thing,” she told People. “We were deeply moved by the love and support of so many people that were rooting us on in our fertility journey.”
Scruggs and Kennedy maintained that through the stressful experience, it was important to them that they not become overly anxious.
In January 2021, Scruggs explained in an Instagram Live video, “We feel like we have so much joy in our life as it is. We only know a baby will add more joy. The baby is not gonna fill a hole in our life.”
