Last Photo Of Betty White Shared On What Would Have Been Her 100th Birthday

Betty White‘s assistant shared one of the last photos taken of Betty White on Facebook yesterday.

“Hello Everyone! It’s Kiersten. Betty’s Assistant. On this special day, I wanted to share this photo of Betty. It was taken on 12/20/21. I believe it’s one of the last photos of her. She was radiant and beautiful and as happy as ever. Thanks to all of you who are doing kind things today and every day to make the world a better place ❤️,” the caption read.

The post comes after White’s passing on New Year’s Eve, just weeks shy of her centennial birthday. The Golden Girls star was the queen of comedy and her acting career spanned over 80 years.

White had been planning to celebrate her birthday on January 17 with the release of Betty White: A Celebration, in theaters.

“Who doesn’t love a party?!? This one is gonna be GREAT!” White said in the press release announcing the project.

The film highlighted White’s career as she gave new interviews, glimpses behind-the-scenes and a lost episode from her first sitcom. It included guests such as Ryan Reynolds, Lin-Manuel Miranda and Tina Fey. It also included one last video from White, filmed the same day the photo was taken. The video was a small tribute to her fans who had been with her throughout her lengthy career. The film was still released yesterday in 1500 theaters across the nation.

“She looked amazing, she loved getting ‘glammed up,’ as she calls it, in her hair, makeup, she was just striking and beautiful,” the film’s producer, Steve Boettcher said. “She was smiling and really she wanted to thank her fans sincerely, from the bottom of her heart, for all the support over the years.”

White’s death certificate named the cause of death as a cerebrovascular accident, in connection to a stroke she suffered six days before her passing. However, White’s agent, Jeff Witjas, said that as far as he knows, she passed away peacefully in her sleep.
