Larry David on SNL 40
Jerry Seinfeld and Larry David earned big laughs with their bit during the Seinfeld-hosted Audience Q&A bit of SNL 40.
After making jokes about Brian Williams and fielding questions from Michael Douglas and James Franco, Seinfeld turned it over to David and the two looked back fondly on their success post-SNL. David wrote for Saturday Night Live for just one season, 1984-1985, before leaving and becoming executive producer of Seinfeld, and later the star of HBO’s Curb Your Enthusiasm.
“Was I really a writer on Saturday Night Live?” David asked Seinfeld.
Seinfeld returned to David at the end of the Q&A, asking if he was going to the after party. “No,” David deadpanned.
Other highlights included a short cameo from Fifty Shades of Grey‘s Dakota Johnson and Sarah Palin asking, “How much do you think Lorne Micheals would pay me if I were to run in 2016?”
“Run for President? Sarah, I don’t think there’s a number too big,” Seinfeld answered.
Palin’s response: “Okay, just hypothetically then, what if I were to choose Donald Trump as my running mate?”
