Lara Trump Says GOP Donors Would Support RNC Paying Father-In-Law’s Legal Fees

Donald Trump‘s daughter-in-law, Lara Trump, said she believes GOP donors would support the Republican National Committee paying the former president’s legal fees.

Lara was endorsed by her father-in-law to be the Republican National Committee’s co-chair. During a South Carolina campaign, Lara said GOP voters may want to see the RNC pay for Trump’s legal fee if they view his cases as political persecution.

“That’s why people are furious right now. And they see the attacks against [Donald Trump]. They feel like it’s an attack not just on Donald Trump but on this country.”

The former president faces millions of dollars in legal fees along with the judgments’ costs. Trump was recently ordered to pay a whopping $355 million in damages for his civil fraud case.

Lara stated she was unsure of how the RNC would handle the payments, but that his supporters would want to have the costs covered. The RNC has covered some of the former president’s legal fees so far but vastly greater bills are coming due now.

When asked about her potential position in the RNC, Lara claimed she would devote her time to supporting her father-in-law.

“Having someone like me in there I think will go a long way for people,” Lara said. “I can assure you that my loyalty is to my father-in-law and I will make sure that every penny is used properly.”
