Lana Del Rey has joined a nationwide “coven of witches” trying to put a spell on President Donald Trump.
On Thursday, Del Rey mysteriously tweeted, “At the stroke of midnight Feb 24, March 26, April 24, May 23. Ingredients can b found online.” While speculation wondered whether the tweet had something to do with her upcoming LP, those four dates aligned with the lunar calendar’s “waning crescent moon ritual dates.”
A representative for Del Rey confirmed to Pitchfork that the singer’s tweet was in support of efforts by the nation’s occultists.
The “ingredients” Del Rey mentions include “an unflattering photograph of Donald Trump,” a small bowl of water, a small nail, a “tiny stub of an orange candle” and a Tower tarot card.
The most popular spell against Trump was first posted by Michael Hughes, occult writer and practitioner. It reads in part:
“I call upon you to bind Donald J. Trump, so that he may fail utterly. That he may do no harm to any human soul, nor any tree, animal, rock, stream or sea…”
The gatherings on the waning crescent moon, which symbolizes weakening, will continue until Trump “and all who abet him” have left their positions of power.
