2016 is coming to a close and Lana Del Rey has not released anything yet. However, the artist has been hinting that something is coming – something that may drop soon.
Last summer saw a number of unreleased Del Rey songs leaked online after a hard drive was stolen in the past, including “Super Movie,” “BBM Baby” and more.
In October, a now-deleted tweet from 965 Amp Radio’s DJ Mike Adam apparently let it slip that an entire album was about to be released.
A few weeks later, fans seem to have stumbled on what looks to be a forthcoming track called “Wild Side.” Indeed, someone has found a new song in the ACE Repertory, registered to regular collaborator Greg Banks and Elizabeth Grant – Del Rey’s real name.
The “West Coast” singer confirmed that this was her track by responding with heart emoji on her Twitter and Instagram accounts.
There has been speculation about new music since March, when she shared an Instagram post of her in the studio with the caption, “Every day.”
In an interview with NME published in December, Del Ray confirmed she had “early thoughts” about what she could do for her next album, adding that herdoes not mind the release time. “My label, Interscope, is pretty flexible and open to my records coming out at any time, so I don’t have that pressure. I’m just happy to be able to keep on making music I can stand behind. That’s enough for me,” she confessed.
One year ago, songwriter Justin Parker shared a picture of himself with the melancholic singer, suggesting that they have been working together.
After the release of Born to Die in 2012, the two took a break from collaborating. Parker was known for having helped pen some of Del Rey’s biggest hits, including “Video Games,” “Born to Die” and “National Anthem.”
Most recently, the songstress responded to a fan via private message, confirming that a record was complete, possibly following her 2015’s Honeymoon.
For the moment, Del Rey has not made any official announcement concerning a new album.
