Lamar Odom continues to struggle with his sobriety. On Monday, Odom, reportedly under the influence of alcohol, threw up on an airplane and was subsequently booted from the flight.
Odom had boarded a red-eye flight heading to New York City from Los Angeles Monday evening. Before the plane took off, Odom started to feel unwell and left his seat for the plane bathroom. He reportedly threw up in the galley on his way, and then again in the bathroom with the door open. Odom was removed from the plane as a result. But, 10 minutes later, he was escorted back on the plane, reported TMZ.
Though Odom had been given a second chance at making the flight, the former NBA player was once again forced to rush to the bathroom to vomit. Along the way, Odom was apparently using fellow passengers’ heads to steady his balance. “Don’t you know his history? I don’t want a dead body at 30,000 feet,” one passenger told the flight attendant, according to TMZ.
Odom was once again escorted off the airplane, allowing the flight to finally take off, landing in New York City 40 minutes late.
Odom has long battled substance abuse issues. His addictions seemed to come to a head last October when he almost died in Nevada. He was found unresponsive at a brothel outside of Las Vegas after overdosing on a nearly-fatal mixture of cocaine, alcohol and an herbal sexual supplement.
