Only a day after President Donald Trump directed disparaging comments towards his daughter, Joe Germanotta, father to Lady Gaga, announced his support for the Trump campaign in a series of now-deleted tweets. Gaga had just appeared at Biden’s last rally, where she gave speeches and performances criticizing the president’s history with women and his policies, opinions that Germanotta does not seem to share.

On election day, Germanotta announced his support for Trump first by tweeting “@realDonaldTrump 2020” and then “You may have noticed my political and spiritual beliefs are different. liberty and freedom of choice would not be political,” said the pop star’s father.

These comments come shortly after Trump publicly denounced his daughter while in Avoca, Pennsylvania. The president spoke of Gaga’s support of Joe Biden, “Now he’s got Lady Gaga. Lady Gaga — is not too good. I could tell you plenty of stories,” said Trump deridingly. “I could tell you stories about Lady Gaga. I know a lot of stories about Lady Gaga.”

Gaga has called out Trump for his treatment of women. While performing at Biden’s last rally, Gaga said to the gathered audience, “To all the women, and to all the men with daughters and sisters and mothers — everybody, no matter how you identify. Now is your chance to vote against Donald Trump, a man who believes his fame gives him the right to grab one of your daughters, or sisters or mothers or wives by any part of their body.” She then urged the audience to, “Vote for Joe. He’s a good person.”
