Lady Gaga has confirmed that she will be the headlining act for Super Bowl’s LI’s halftime show.
Gaga took to Twitter Thursday afternoon to reveal that she had been tapped to perform at the Super Bowl.
“It’s not an illusion. The rumors are true,” Gaga tweeted. “This year the SUPER BOWL goes GAGA! @nfl @FOXTV @pepsi #PERFECTILLUSION #GAGASUPERBOWL”
The NFL quickly followed up on Twitter with a video of Gaga performing “Perfect Illusion” to NFL highlights. “Looks like we aren’t the only ones excited about @LadyGaga performing at the #SB51 #PepsiHalftime show…” the NFL tweeted.
Lady Gaga, who was rumored to have won the halftime spot earlier this month, performed the national anthem at Super Bowl 50 last year. Coldplay had been the headlining act with special guests Beyonce and Bruno Mars. As for Lady Gaga’s potential special guests, she has a number of collaborators off her new album Joanne to choose from – including Florence Welch, Beck and Mark Ronson.
