Lady Gaga Cast In New Ridley Scott Film About Murder Of Maurizio Gucci
Lady Gaga is taking her acting talents back to the silver screen after blowing the public away with her performance as Ally, in A Star Is Born.
Director Ridley Scott’s has cast Gaga to play the part of Patrizia Reggiani in his dramatization of the murder of Guccio Gucci’s grandson Maurizio. Patrizia Reggiani is the ex-wife of Gucci founder’s grandson, who was tried and convicted of plotting Maurizio’s assassination on the steps of his Milan office building in 1995. She ultimately served 18 years for her role in his shooting death before being released in 2016.
Though Maurizio and Reggiani had two children, he ultimately left her for another woman. Because of this, she was painted as a jealous Black Widow by the media in relation to Maurizio’s death. However, Reggiani’s two children confirm that she had a brain tumor at the time and the children allege the tumor for her actions.
The film scrip is written by Robert Bentivegna and adapted from Sara Gay Forden’s book The House of Gucci: A Sensational Story of Murder, Madness, Glamour, and Greed. Scott’s wife, Giannina Scott, will be producing alongside her husband. She plans to focus the movie on the rise of the Gucci family business that suffered as a result of greed and squabbles over control during its corporatization.
This would be Gaga’s first major movie attachment following her Best Actress Oscar nomination for her role in A Star Is Born. In addition, Gaga was the recipient of an Academy Award for co-writing the film’s soundtrack hit “Shallow,” which became her first single to top the Billboard Hot 100 in eight years.
