Lady Gaga and her fiancé Taylor Kinney jumped into the frigid Lake Michigan as part of the annual Chicago Polar Plunge on Sunday morning at North Avenue Beach. Kinney is a star of the TV series Chicago Fire.
Before they say their wedding vows, the couple took part in another plunge for charity. The two, along with 6,000 other participants faced mild winter temperatures compared to Chicago’s usually frigid winters. In previous years, organizers had to break apart large chunks of ice to open up water for the plungers.
“We love the city of Chicago and the Polar Plunge for The Special Olympics. These men and women are brave and powerful. Me and Taylor love getting cold in your honor every year,” Gaga said on her Instagram.
Gaga added a few photos to her Instagram during and after the plunge.
The songstress captioned this photo with “We had such a good time! Though I can tell Taylor’s shorts were freezing in this pic ! ?”
Seibert speculated, “If struggle without context is baffling, heaven without struggle isn’t very interesting.”
The shooter was identified to be John R. Lyons, 24, of Westchester, Illinois.
