Covent Garden, one of London’s most famous shopping areas, had its Christmas lights switched on today with the help of Kylie Minogue and Charlotte Tilbury.

40 mistletoe chandeliers with nearly 700 shining berries and over 1/000 feet of of garlands, which featured roughly 100,000 lights, were adorned on the market building. To celebrate the lighting, the cast from the West End musical 42nd Street appeared for a fun performance. Various shops in the square did special events, giveaways, and discounts.

Minogue and Tilbury teamed up with Pudsey the Bear to turn on the Christmas lights in honor of the BBC’s Children in Need. “I am so honored to be here with Pudsey and Charlotte. Thank you everybody for this beautiful – one should always make an entrance like that,” said Minogue to the crowd. “We send you lots and lots of love, thank you for coming out and sharing in this beautiful evening. Let the lights shine! Merry Christmas everyone!”
