A few Twitter users claim their attempt at the so-called ‘Kylie Jenner Lip Challenged’ landed them in the hospital. One user known as @dylancollins7 shared these photos of his busted lip on Twitter, and shared a selfie from the hospital, warning others to stay away from the challenge.

However, another Twitter user, @SorryChersLate, posted the same photos and also claimed he was in the hospital. It’s unclear whether either of them are telling the truth, but the photos have gone viral, and doctors confirm that the challenge is potentially dangerous.

Dermatologists, Celebrities Warn Against The Lip Challenge

Dermatologist, Dr. Dendy Engelman, told Elle that participating in the lip challenge could result in disfigurement, saying, “Not only can significant pain, swelling and bruising result from these suction techniques, but there is potential risk for scarring and permanent disfigurement with repeated attempts.” Cher Lloyd cautioned her followers against participating in the challenge, tweeting to fans, “Please don’t do that lip challenge thing, it’s so stupid.”
