Reality TV star Kylie Jenner has donated $1 million to a health clinic in Lima, Peru, that specializes in cleft palate surgery for children. Jenner visited the clinic on behalf of Smile Train, a charity the star has collaborated with in the past – the charity also runs the clinic.
The Keeping Up with the Kardashians star was accompanied by her mother, Kris Jenner, and several friends on the trip to South America.
Jenner and Smile Train are currently collaborating on a lipstick which will send all of its proceeds to the non-profit organization. The money will pay, among other things, for the surgeries the clinic performs. The limited-edition lipstick is expected to raise enough money to perform up to 600 surgeries.
During the trip, Jenner met several children affected with cleft palate, before and after having the operation.
On Wednesday, the Jenner group traveled to Cusco, the former capital of the Inca Empire. While there, Jenner lovingly snuggled up to an alpaca. Her mother posted a photo of her daughter and the wooly creature.
“Fast Friends #Peru,” Jenner wrote.
During the trip to Cusco – which is located slightly over 11,000 above sea-level – Jenner got altitude sickness and had to be administered an oxygen mask. She has made a full recovery.
