Actor Kyle Massey, star of That’s So Raven and Cory in the House, has been charged with one count of immoral communication with a minor, court documents show.
Massey was sued in 2019 for allegedly sending inappropriate photos, texts and videos to a 13-year-old girl. The lawsuit charged him with “intentional infliction of emotional distress, harmful matter sent with intention of seducing a minor, attempting to commit a lewd act with a minor and annoying or molesting a minor.”
In the lawsuit, the girl who has remained anonymous claimed she met Massey when she was four years of age. The lawsuit also explained that she kept in touch with him because she wanted to pursue a career in the entertainment industry.
The lawsuit said that Massey had a close relationship with the girl’s family and suggested she move from Seattle to Los Angeles to live with him and his girlfriend.
The girl and her mother claimed that Massey “held himself out as a father figure” to the girl and that that contact became more frequent in 2018 after the girl said she was interested in a role for the rebooted version of Cory in the House.
Massey allegedly asked the girl to add him on Snapchat and used the app to send her “numerous sexually explicit text messages, images and videos.” The lawsuit said the girl is suing Massey for at least $1.5 million.
Court documents said Massey failed to make an appearance for his arraignment on June 28 in King’s County.
