Kristen Stewart‘s mother Jules Stewart was quoted in a recent interview weighing in on her relationship with visual effects producer Alicia Cargile and her sexuality.

Kristen Stewart In Lesbian Relationship?

Jules, 55, was getting interviewed about her film K-11 and her fundraiser for The Wolf Connection when the Q&A supposedly veered off in the direction of her famous daughter.

“I feel like people need to be free to love whoever they want. I accept my daughter loves women and men,” Jules reportedly told the Sunday Mirror. “It’s ok to be who you are in my world. We all choose our friends so we should be free to choose our lovers.”

Jules then allegedly added of Cargile, “I’ve met Kristen’s new girlfriend, I like her. What’s not to accept? She’s a lovely girl.”

After her quotes started making countless headlines, Jules released a statement to claim that some of her quotes were fabricated and that she did not discuss Kristen or her relationship with Cargile.

“I spoke to [reporter] Sharon Feinstein about my film K-11 that has been put on display in the Hollywood Museum,” she told Us Weekly. “It’s currently there under the LGBT banner on the third floor. She also asked me about my views on gay rights, which I was happy to express. Then we talked briefly about the fundraiser I am hosting for TheWolfConnection.org. Never ever did we discuss Kristen!

“I said, ‘Yes, she’s a lovely girl,’” Jules said, verifying her response when she was asked if she knew Cargile – though she claims that she neither confirmed nor denied if Cargile is dating her Kristen.

Feinstein, for her part, seems to be sticking to her story and the quotes therein. Since the interview went live, she’s posted a series of tweets that seem to address the situation.

Stewart has yet to make a statement about the interview.
