When the first Twilight film was released Kristen Stewart found herself in the eye of a media firestorm, exposed to intense levels of scrutiny and subject to both public adulation and criticism. To go from relative obscurity to the stratosphere of fame overnight can’t be an easy transition and Stewart is now offering some solid advice to another young starlet currently riding the crest of a similar wave.
A small little film by the name of Star Wars: The Force Awakens was released last week and Daisy Ridley has since emerged as its breakout star. The English-born 23-year-old was entirely unknown to the world before landing the part of Rey, the film’s kickass heroine, and now has the entirety of a multi-billion dollar Hollywood franchise fanbase to count as supporters.
Lest Ridley get too overwhelmed by this sudden success, however, Stewart is on hand to offer some words of wisdom. In an interview with The Hollywood Reporter, Stewart imparted Ridley with the following:
“Focus on the fact that you’re stoked ’cause you’re doing the work that you want to do. It’s literally mainly just about focusing on what makes you happy. And if losing your anonymity or whatever doesn’t make you happy, then focus on something else.”
Solid life advice by any measure, for both Ridley and even those less fame-burdened mortals among us.
