Kris Jenner Says She Could Have Saved Nicole Simpson

Shortly before she was brutally murdered on June 12, 1994, Nicole Brown Simpson called her best friend Kris Jenner, asking her to come over and talk about something really important. Jenner, who was too busy with her own family, couldn't go, and instead rescheduled for a later date — an opportunity that would never come. This is all according to Jenner, former wife of late O.J. Simpson defense attorney Robert Kardashian and mother of Kim and Kourtney, as she writes in a new book called Kris Jenner … and All Things Kardashian, the New York Post reports.

Jenner claims that Nicole told her she feared for her life. “(O.J.’s) going to kill me and he’s going to get away with it," Jenner quoted Nicole as saying about her then-ex-husband.“She was a wreck,” Jenner writes. “She was convinced that someone was looking in her windows and climbing through her bushes in the middle of the night.”

On the night of June 12, Nicole telephoned Jenner. “Nicole said, ‘Can you get over here…? I need to talk to you–it’s really important.” Lamenting the fact that had she gone to visit Nicole that night she might have saved her life, Jenner writes her excuse that night was that she was "tied up" with her six kids. By 1994 Jenner had been divorced from Kardashian for three years and was remarried to Olympian Bruce Jenner.

The next morning, Jenner and the rest of the world awoke to the news of the brutal murders of Nicole Brown Simpson and her friend, Ron Goldman, in the Brentwood section of Los Angeles. “I instinctively knew that in some way O.J. had something to do with her death,” Jenner writes in her book. “I truly couldn’t believe she had been so betrayed by the person who she had once loved most. That O.J. would be so destructive and selfish and jealous. That he would do that to her was just mind-blowing to me. All these thoughts were running through my mind: This can’t be true.”

O.J. Simpson was tried for the murder of his ex-wife but was acquitted. Ironically Jenner's ex-husband Robert Kardashian was one of the "dream team" of lawyers that defended Simpson.
