Kobe Bryant, the recently retired NBA legend, got slimed with gold slime at the 2016 Nickelodeon Kids’ Choice Sports Awards in Westwood, California, on Thursday night.
Bryant was at the Kids’ Choice Sports Awards at UCLA’s Pauley Pavilion to accept the Legend Award. Upon taking the stage, Bryant gave a speech to the young people in the audience.
“It seems like it was yesterday I was your guys’ age and I had a dream, I had ambition for being one of the greatest basketball players of all time. And through hard work and dedication that dream came true, ” the former Los Angeles Lakers stand out said. Bryant added, “But I want to tell you guys something to be mindful of: when you have a dream the one thing you need to watch out for are those that are trying to crush your dream. You cannot allow that to happen. I challenge you to go out there and be legendary in your own right.”
After concluding his brief speech, gold slime shot out from the floor, drenching the all-star athlete from head to toe.
Incidentally, Bryant was also honored on Wednesday night at the 2016 ESPY Awards, where he accepted the Icon Award.
