Kit Harington Admits He’s In ‘Game Of Thrones’ Season 6 – But Still Says Jon Snow Is Dead

Kit Harington has finally admitted that he returns as Jon Snow in the sixth season of Game of Thrones.

While Harington has at long last stopped denying that he appears in the new Game of Thrones season, he’s still maintaining that his character, Jon Snow, is really dead. “I filmed some scenes of me being dead,” Harington told Time Out London. He went on to reiterate, “Look, I’m not in the show anymore. I’m definitely not in the new series,” and added that he doesn’t “have a clue” about what is going to happen in the sixth season, or how his character affects the storyline.

Game of Thrones fifth season ended in June, culminating with Jon Snow receiving what looked to be a fatal sword blow – or several – to the chest. Since then, there’s been an immense amount of speculation about whether or not Jon Snow is dead. And if he were to be alive, there’s multiple theories about in what form he would take. Does he become a white walker? Does he become a warg and inhabit his direwolf ghost? Does Melisandre revive him?

A large piece of evidence that Game of Thrones fans hadn’t seen the last of Harington and Jon Snow came in September of last year, when Harington appeared to let slip that he’s on the show for the long run.

“I had to pass on amazing parts because I was attached to Game of Thrones. So the show is like a double-edged sword to me: I owe a lot to it, but at the same time it almost completely consumes me,” Harrington told Belgian magazine Humo. “Oh well, I try not to think about it too much. The important thing is that I now know exactly how long I am still under contract, and in the meantime — ”

When pressed further about his contract for Game of Thrones, Harrington seemed to realize he had waded into spoiler territory, but did nothing to dispel the idea that he’s not quite done with HBO’s hit series.

“I can’t talk about that. Let’s just say that Game of Thrones will remain a part of my life for a while; I’ll probably be in my 30s when it’s over,” Harrington, 28, said, adding, “One thing’s for sure: the day I’m no longer on Thrones is the day I’ll bury myself in movie projects [laughs].”
