Kim Richards, the former Real Housewives of Beverly Hills star, allegedly tried to steal two carts worth of merchandise from a Target store earlier this month.

Kim Richards Arrest

Richards, 50, was arrested Aug. 2 for allegedly attempting to shoplift from a Target in Van Nuys, Calif. It was claimed that Richards had more that 100 items in her carts, which had a total value of more that $600. Among the items in Richards’ cart were coloring books, Animal Crackers, Scotch glue, colored pencils, stickers and gloves, according to the New York Post.

“Richards was caught by store security attempting to take more than 100 items valued at approximately $612,” a spokesman for the Los Angeles City Attorney’s Office told Page Six. “They were in the shopping cart and she was not concealing them. She just rolled out.”

Target loss prevention arrested Richards on the scene, and took a photograph of the reality TV star in which she is shown wearing a white hat, wire-rimmed glasses, hoop earrings and a plaid shirt. Richards was eventually booked at the Van Nuys police station. She was released on $5,000 the following morning.

Richards has pleaded not guilty to her petty theft shoplifting charge. She will have to report to a pre-trial hearing set for August 20.

Richards ran into trouble with the law earlier this year when she was arrested at the Beverly Hills Hotel back in April. She has since pleaded not guilty to three misdemeanor charges – resisting arrest, public intoxication and battery on a peace officer.
