Kim Kardashian and Kanye West, who are believed to be just days away from welcoming their fourth baby via surrogate, turned heads at the 2019 Met Gala on Monday evening.

Like the power couple they are, the two did their own take on the night’s Camp theme.

For Kardashian’s look, she pulled out all the stops in a nude latex dress featuring beaded crystals that resembled water droplets.

The look was created by French fashion designer Thierry Mugler, who came out of a 20-year-long retirement in order to create the star’s look. And it wasn’t a quick job, Kardashian revealed to Vogue that the dress took eight months to put together.

“This is the first time in 20 years Mr. Mugler has designed for the House of Mugler,” she told Vogue.

“So to come and design this gown for me is such an honor. This is about eight months in the making,” she continued. “He envisioned me this California girl stepping out of the ocean, wet, dripping.”

To share her inspiration behind the look, Kardashian took to her Instagram story to post a picture of Sophia Loren in the film Boy on a Dolphin, suggesting that her look paid homage to her look from the film.

Meanwhile, West wore a black jacket and pants and kept his look casual.

Over the years, the pair have attended the Met Gala hand-in-hand. In 2016, to the two went all out in Balmain looks. With West wearing colored eye contacts and ripped jeans on the red carpet, while Kardashian wore a silver dress with a high leg slit.

In 2015, the couple went for a more formal look, with Kardashian wearing a backless, sheer beaded dress with a feathered train by Roberto Cavalli, while West wore a black suit.
