Kim Kardashian has responded to accusations that she did blackface on an Instagram photo.
The Keeping Up with the Kardashians star stated that she had no intentions of doing blackface and understands why people are upset. She claims she had gotten a tan before the photo shoot and appears dark because of that.
“I would obviously never want to offend anyone. I used an amazing photographer and a team of people. I was really tan when we shot the images, and it might be that the contrast was off,” Kardashian said. “But I showed the image to many people, to many in the business. No one brought that to our attention. No one mentioned it.”
She added, “Of course, I have the utmost respect for why people might feel the way they did. But we made the necessary changes to that photo and the rest of the photos. We saw the problem, and we adapted and changed right away. Definitely I have learned from it.”
Kardashian has started her own makeup and beauty product line, and is exhibiting what it can do through pictures on her Insta account. The line is called KKW Beauty and goes live June 21.
