Kim Kardashian used her considerable social media presence to raise awareness for the need for stricter gun control laws in the United States on Wednesday.

Kim Kardashian On Gun Control

Earlier this week, Kardashian was using social media to be a champion for pregnant women learning to be comfortable in their changing bodies, and now the reality TV star is using her platform to be a champion for gun control laws. On Twitter, Kardashian asked her followers if they’d heard about David Conley, the Houston man, who stands accused of killing eight people – including his ex-girlfriend, their six children together, and his ex’s new boyfriend – with a gun purchased over the Internet.

“Have u heard of the heart breaking story about David Conley who slaughtered his ex girlfriend & her entire family! Her 6 kids, husband & her!,” Kardashian wrote. “He purchased the gun & ammo ONLINE! How is it so easy to purchase guns online!!! Does this not sicken you? No background checks needed!!!!!”

“These gun safety laws have to change! This poor woman was tied up & saw every child of hers & husband get executed over 10 hours!,” Kardashian added. “My thoughts & prayers go out to Valerie Jackson’s family and friends! #GunLawsHAVEtoChange #GunSafety #BackgroundChecksNecessary.”

Kardashian notably spoke out in favor of stricter gun control laws back in 2013 following the shooting in Newtown, Conn. She also shared her views on guns back in June when asked about one thing that could change the world.

After saying, “Gun control,” Kardashian added, “I’m not the type to have them in my house. They scare me so much. If I could do something to change the world … I’m not really a gun person, and we do not have strict enough gun control laws.”
