24: Live Another Day is filming in London with series star Kiefer Sutherland returning as counter-terrorism agent Jack Bauer.
With the 24 reboot set in London, the actors will shoot the series on location in the U.K. Sutherland revealed earlier this month that the locals might not be thrilled about the action sequences that were going to be shot.
"Things will be blowing up — cars, double decker buses, things like that," Sutherland said at the Television Critics Association meeting. "I'm sure we'll be hated by a large portion of London for snarling up their traffic here and there, and for that I apologize in advance."
On the Live Another Day set on Wednesday, Kiefer was sporting injury makeup on the left side of his head. The wound is the result of a car accident in the London streets. Shots of the scene show an overturned cab emblazoned with the British flag. In the center of a closed off street, flames erupt from the underside of the vehicle.
Also on the 24: Live Another Day set was Mary Lynn Rajskub, who is reprising her role as Chloe O’Brian. “I am thrilled to be working with Howard [Gordon] and the writers again — and, of course, Kiefer,” Rajskub said in a statement. “There’s a lot more room to grow in my character… I’m going to start sharpening my computer skills right now,” the actress added, referring to her character’s profession as a CTU systems analyst.
The 24 reboot will pick up four years after the events in the original series. Jack has relocated to London and is in hiding, but something materializes that forces him back into the action.
24: Live Another Day will air its two-hour premiere on Fox May 5 at 8/7c. There will be 12 episodes in the miniseries.
