Kid Rock Shames ‘Angry’ & ‘Childish’ Michelle Obama For Skipping Trump’s Inauguration

In a recent conversation with Fox News host Jesse Watters, Kid Rock (real name Robert James Ritchie) shared his disdain for former president Barack Obama’s wife, Michelle Obama, and her decision not to attend Donald Trump’s inauguration on January 20.

Kid Rock said that this was inappropriate and childish behavior. Ritchie proclaimed, “I would kindly like to remind Michelle that years back when Obama was first elected, I did not vote for him, but they asked me to play at the inauguration…I played it, I went, I had a good time. I went out of respect for the presidency, I would kindly remind Miss Michelle about that.”

Questioned why he thought Michelle was skipping the ceremony, Ritchie said, “I don’t know, she seems a little angry. I can’t say something nice.”

The day after the election, the Obamas immediately released a statement on X congratulating Trump and his Vice President JD Vance on their victory.

“This is not the outcome we had hoped for, given our profound disagreements with the Republican ticket on a whole host of issues,” they also expressed. “Living in a democracy is about recognizing that one point of view won’t always win out, and being willing to accept the peaceful transfer of power.”

The couple’s statement continued, “Progress requires us to extend good faith and grace—even to people with whom we deeply disagree. That’s how we’ve come this far, and it’s how we’ll keep building a country that is more fair and more just, more equal and more free.”

IFollowing Joe Biden‘s victory in the 2020 election, Trump and many of his supporters – high-profile and not – refused to accept that Trump lost and rather preached the false narrative that the election was stolen.

Ritchie is set to perform at the inauguration on Monday, accompanied by Billy Ray Cyrus and The Village People, who LGBTQ groups have criticized for their decision to perform.
