Khloé Kardashian has answered confused fans’ questions as to why she was walking around with a bandage on her face.

She revealed that the bump she had for seven months turned out not to be a zit or blemish, but an actual tumor that required immediate removal.

“After noticing a small bump on my face and assuming it was something as minor as a zit. I decided to get it biopsied seven months after realizing it was not budging,” Kardashian wrote on her Instagram Story. She also shared a photo of the bump, which certainly seemed very innocuous.

She joked in another Story post that her doctor “didn’t want to cut into my face, but you did it to protect me.”

Kardashian noted that the tumor was fully removed successfully and she is safely in the recovery phase now.

Kris Jenner even reposted a sweet note to Khloé that one of the doctors, plastic surgeon Garth Fisher, wrote for her.

“I was so saddened that you required a procedure requiring removing of a dangerous and significant tumor from your face. I felt like I was operating on my own daughter,” Dr. Fisher said.

He is known as the family plastic surgeon for The Kardashians and has had many other celebrity clients as well.

Khloé also added that she was only sharing this information to encourage others to see a dermatologist and get suspicious bumps checked.

“At 19 years old, I had melanoma on my back, and I had surgery to remove that as well, so I am pre-compose to melanomas,” she wrote.

Every adult is at risk of skin cancer, and that risk increases as we age. Even if you hardly ever got sunburns as a kid, you should put sunscreen on liberally even on cloudy days, as UV rays penetrate clouds even on those gloomy days.
