Khloe Kardashian will not be returning to The X Factor as a host alongside former Saved By the Bell star Mario Lopez, Fox confirmed on Monday.
This latest music competition series from Simon Cowell has yet to propel itself to the heights of American Idol or The Voice. The X Factor is still trying to find its groove with its hosts and four-person judging panel and generate the viewers Cowell is after.
With Kardashian gone, that will just leave Lopez as the host, and Cowell doesn't seem to have any plans on giving him a co-host for the upcoming season.“Hosting a live show and keeping the judges — especially Demi [Lovato] — in line is not an easy job.. . . Mario is a pro and we are glad he’s coming back,” said Cowell said in the statement.
While Cowell and Lovato will be back as mentors, there's been no word yet on who will replace departing judges Britney Spears and "L.A." Reid.
The X Factor is no stranger to lineup changes, as there was a similar shakeup between its first and second seasons. Steve Jones was dumped as the host, and Cowell had also replaced former American Idol judge Paula Abdul and Pussycat Dolls frontwoman Nicole Scherzinger.
