Khloé Kardashian Calls L.A. Mayor Karen Bass’ Response To Wildfires ‘A Joke’
Khloé Kardashian has expressed her disapproval of Los Angeles Mayor Karen Bass after the city’s wildfires ravaged hundreds of resident’s homes.
The Kardashians star, 40, took to Instagram to express her feelings about the mayor by calling her a “joke.”
Kardashian’s response came not long after L.A. Fire Chief Kristin Crowley spoke with FOX 11, saying the mayor “failed” the city by calling for budget cuts months before the fires began.
In the interview, Crowley claimed she pleaded for more money over a month before the fires due to firetrucks and hydrants needing immediate repairs, but her pleas were met with deaf ears.
The reality star uploaded the clip to her Instagram Story, responding, “I stand by YOU Chief Crowley!!!! You spoke the truth and you had tears in your eyes because I can tell you didn’t even want to say that but it was THE TRUTH!!!! Thank you for being honest. Mayor Bass, you are a joke!!!!”
Among the many families who have lost their homes due to the wildfires, Kardashian and the rest of her family members were ordered to evacuate as the Kenneth Fire started to burn across 1,000 acres northeast of Calabasas, California.
The fires have the potential to cause over $250 billion in damages, according to expert estimates.
The county medical examiner has reported an updated number of 27 deaths that the fire has caused so far.
