Kevin James stopped by New York Mets home stadium, Citi Field, in Queens, N.Y., Tuesday afternoon while promoting his new movie Paul Blart: Mall Cop 2.
James was at Citi Field for some batting practice with Mets players David Wright and Michael Cuddyer. “Kevin James can swing the lumber,” the Mets captioned a video of the actor hitting some balls at the team’s ballpark.
Speaking about the experience, James admitted it was a dream come true – but that his body was feeling the effects of swinging the bat all afternoon. “Every muscle is pulled. The back went out on the first pitch, I think,” James told ESPN. “I think a hamstring pulled on the third pitch.”
“But that’s every kid’s dream. To be able to take swings in the cage there is incredible. At Shea Stadium I put two out,” James added. “So I’ve got to get back in shape. I’m going to do it again. I got close here, but I didn’t do it this time. I’ve got to get ready and come back and do it for real.”
The lifetime Mets fan had worn a Mets Jersey to the New York City premiere of Paul Blart: Mall Cop 2 Monday, cruising down the red carpet on a Segway.
Paul Blart: Mall Cop 2 hits theaters Friday, April 17.
