Kevin Hart Responds To Katt Williams’ Claim That He ‘Stole’ All His Movie Roles
Comedian Kevin Hart has addressed the extensive criticism directed at him by fellow comedian Katt Williams, which included allegations that Hart secured all the movie roles Williams had pursued.
The ongoing feud between the two comedians was recently reignited when Williams made disparaging remarks about several comedians, which included Hart, Chris Tucker, Cedric the Entertainer and Steve Harvey, in an appearance on Shannon Sharpe‘s Club Shay Shay podcast.
In response to Williams’ comments, Hart referred to the rant as “entertainment” and expressed his well wishes for Williams.
In an interview with the Wall Street Journal magazine, Hart stated, “If that’s what he fuels himself off, God bless him… Good for him. I hope he gets all that he needs and he wants, and I’m here cheering for him from afar… That’s my real energy, I really mean it! That’s how happy and secure I am with my career and my life.”
While this isn’t the first time Williams has publicly criticized Hart, the recent Club Shay Shay interview gained significant attention due to Williams’ claims that in five years, every movie Hart appeared in had previously been offered to him. Williams said he had suggested revisions and ultimately lost all the roles to Hart.
This is not the first time Williams has targeted Hart – he previously insinuated that both Hart and fellow comedian Tiffany Haddish‘s success was undeserved because it came early in their careers. Williams referred to Hart as a “gatekeeper” and credited him with opening the door for Haddish in the same January podcast interview.
Additionally, Williams accused Cedric the Entertainer of stealing a joke for his Original Kings of Comedy special. Cedric responded to the allegation in the comments section of an Instagram post related to the podcast, “Revisionist History, regardless of whatever Katts’ opinion. My career can’t be reduced to One Joke Katt Williams claims as his. I been over 40 movies. My specials and brand speaks volumes for I am.”
In January, Hart sued his former assistant and a YouTuber for invasion of privacy and extortion.
