Kevin Hart admitted to cheating on his wife, Eniko Parrish, to radio show The Breakfast Club on Thursday.
“That’s Kevin Hart in his dumbest moment,” the comedian said on the air. “That’s not the finest hour of my life. With that being said, you make your bed you lay in it. You can’t even say, ‘What were you thinking?’ Because you weren’t thinking.”
Hart previously apologized for his infidelity to Parrish in September. At that time, she was pregnant with the couple’s first child together (Hart has two from a previous marriage). A woman came forward and allegedly threatened to expose Hart’s relationship with her if he didn’t pay her up to $10 million. Instead of allowing the woman to blackmail him, Hart admitted his fault and owned up to his mistake.
In September, the actor shared a video about the situation, in which he says, “At the end of the day, I just gotta do better, but I’m also not gonna allow a person to have financial gain off of my mistakes, and in this particular situation, that’s what was attempted. And I said I’d rather ‘fess up to my mistakes.”
Now, Hart spoke openly about exactly what those mistakes were – that he cheated on his wife. “Your woman is not a f–king rug,” he explained. “You’re not going to walk over your woman’s back. Any woman is going to – you’re going to get some s–t. It’s a cold house, it’s a very cold house for a minute and rightfully so.
“Me being wrong, I’m going to face the music,” Hart continued. “I’m gonna go home, I’m gonna address it, I’m gonna make my wife fully aware of what’s going on in the situation that I have now put us in and I’m hoping that she has a heart to where she can forgive me and understand that this is not going to be a reoccurring thing and allow me to recover from my f–king massive mistake. That’s what I’m trying to do not only as a man, but within teaching a lesson to my son.”
Hart also said that admitting his error made him realize what he could have lost in his wife and marriage. “This time, granted, I f–ked up. But in f–king this up, I’m like, I got to repair this because this is what I want,” he said. “This is my foundation. This is my wife, my kids. I worked for this. There is nine-plus years into this. Goddamn! Alright, babe, this is bad on all accounts. But I got to fix it and I’m going to work to fix it. That’s the difference, as a man when you want to work to fix it and you want to fight for what you have.”
Parrish gave birth to the couple’s son, Kenzo Hart, in late November. Earlier this week, the pair made their first public appearance since he was born.
