Kesha Struggling With Lawsuit Against Former Producer Dr. Luke

Kesha filed a lawsuit against her producer Dr. Luke, whose real name is Lukasz “Dr. Luke” Gottwald, last year for allegedly verbally and physically abusing her.

KESHA’S CAREER IN DANGER

Last year, Kesha filed a lawsuit against Gottwald, stating that he emotionally abused her, as well as drugging and raping her many times over the years. Gottwald filed a countersuit against her claiming the lawsuit was filed as a means to get out of her contract. Kesha then expanded her lawsuit to include Sony Music, arguing that because they have decided to ignore her claims regarding Gottwald’s mistreatment of her they are putting other female artists at risk.

Kesha’s career has been put on hold until the lawsuit mess clears up, and since she cannot record as is, her career is in danger. In order to move things along Kesha filed an injunction, hoping that it will force a judge to make a decision about the case. Because she still has her contract with Sony and Gottwald, and has no interest in continuing to work with them, her career is struggling. “Her brand value has fallen,” her lawyer told Yahoo. “Kesha will suffer irreparable harm, plummeting her career past the point of no return.

“If Kesha cannot immediately resume recording… her career is effectively over,” Former CEO of Universal Music Jim Urie said.

Sony doesn’t feel that they are to blame in all of this, stating that they were simply “caught in the crossfire.”

Gottwald’s spokesperson, however, had this to say about the whole thing: “If Kesha now regrets her career being mired in legal proceedings it’s entirely her making.”

Kesha’s fans are supporting her during these difficult times. Kesha posted a photo of herself on Instagram, to which her fans commented, saying, “stay strong” and “we will support you”.
