Kerry Washington and her husband, San Francisco 49ers cornerback Nnamdi Asomugha, are expecting their first child together.
Washington, 36, has yet to confirm her pregnancy, but an insider says that the Scandal star and Asomugha are expecting. “She’s about four months along,” a source told Us Weekly.
"Kerry and Nnamdi are ecstatic," another source close to the pair told People.
It comes as little surprise that Washington would keep the baby news a secret, as she had managed to keep her marriage to the football player, 31, a secret for weeks. In fact, the public was unaware that the pair were even dating until it was reported that they’d filed for a marriage license in Idaho, where both of Washington’s parents attended the nuptials.
Although Washington admits its often hard to be tight-lipped about her personal life, she’s a strong believer in the importance of keeping as much of it private as possible. "I hate keeping secrets; that is the worst thing for me, because I always want to talk about it," she told reporters earlier this month, referencing her secret wedding. "I am really private about my personal life."
The child will be the first for both Washington and Asomugha. Washington was previously engaged to actor David Moscow.
