Kerry Washington Dons Mary Katrantzou To TCA Summer Press Tour

Kerry Washington arrived in style at the Disney ABC Television Group’s 2015 TCA Summer Press Tour on Tuesday in Beverly Hills.

Washington hit the red carpet at the TCA event in a layered dress from Mary Katrantzou’s Fall 2015 collection. The light blue number featured baroque prints in deep blue and green. Washington accessorized with aqua earrings and wore black Christian Louboutin ‘Altressa’ pumps.

While Washington’s red carpet fashion often includes bold colors and prints, when she’s in character as Scandal‘s Olivia Pope she’s often clad in soft neutrals. According to the actress, she’s not afraid to lift some of Olivia Pope’s more comfortable items for her personal use.

“I may have borrowed some of her cashmere sweaters,” Washington told People. “Her loungewear is similar to my flying gear.”

Washington also revealed that putting on Olivia’s work clothes on set is part of what helps her get into the character as the intense political fixer.

“To go back to [wearing] Armani, beautiful Prada bags and Manolo Blahniks, it really helps you find the character,” Washington explained. “Olivia’s aesthetic is so different than mine.”

Scandal’s fifth season will premiere on ABC Sept. 24.
