Robert F. Kennedy Jr.’s sister, Kerry Kennedy, shared that she was “disgusted” by her brother’s endorsement of former President Donald Trump.
Last month, Kennedy announced that he would suspend his campaign and endorse Trump.
Kerry responded to the endorsement during an appearance on Inside with Jen Psaki.
“The stakes this November couldn’t be higher, which is exactly why my whole family will be fighting so hard to reelect [Vice President] Kamala Harris and Coach [Tim] Walz, who’ve been champions for the values that my family has fought for, for years,” she declared.
“Donald Trump is the polar opposite,” she said. “He’s a threat to most basic freedoms that are core to who we are as Americans, the right for women to control our bodies, the right to live in communities safe from gun violence, to love who you love.”
“And I think if my dad were alive today, the real Robert Kennedy would’ve detested almost everything Donald Trump represents,” Kerry asserted. “His lying, his selfishness, his rage, his cynicism, hatred, racism, fascist sympathies, deliberate misinformation about vaccines, criminal felony convictions.”
“So I’m outraged and disgusted by my brother’s gaudy and obscene embrace of Donald Trump,” she declared. “And I completely disavow and separate and dissociate myself from Robert Kennedy Jr. in this flagrant and inexplicable effort to desecrate and trample and set fire to my father’s memory.”
In addition to criticizing Kennedy’s decision to run for president, Kerry announced she was leading the effort against her brother’s campaign in the 2024 presidential election.
