The Kensington Palace has denied a story in Tatler magazine which claims Kate Middleton is  “exhausted” by Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s exit from the royal family.

In the article, the Tatler claimed a “friend” of Middleton said, “Kate is furious about the larger workload. Of course she’s smiling and dressing appropriately but she doesn’t want this. She feels exhausted and trapped. She’s working as hard as a top CEO, who has to be wheeled out all the time, without the benefits of boundaries and plenty of holidays.”

A Kensington Palace spokesperson responded to this by claiming that it is false and said, “This story contains a swathe of inaccuracies and false misrepresentations which were not put to Kensington Palace prior to publication.”

However, Tatler is standing by its story. A spokesperson stated, “Tatler‘s Editor-in-Chief Richard Dennen stands behind the reporting of Anna Pasternak and her sources.”

After Markle and Prince Harry stepped back from their roles as royals, Middleton had taken on more public engagements especially to try to avoid negative press on the family.

A friend of Prince William and Middleton told Tatler, “Meghan and Harry have been so selfish. William and Catherine really wanted to be hands-on parents and the Sussexes have effectively thrown their three children under a bus. There goes their morning school runs as the responsibilities on them now are enormous.”

There has been rumored friction between Middleton and Markle from even before Prince Harry and Markle’s exit. “I don’t think that she ever pulled Meghan under her wing and said, ‘I’ll show you the ropes,’” a source told Tattler. “Catherine and William were very circumspect from the beginning about Meghan, which hurt and incensed Harry. William rightly cautioned Harry to slow the relationship down. That’s why they all fell out. As the rift got deeper between the brothers, Kate, who used to be so close to Harry, tried to pacify things. But her loyalty will always be to William.”
