Cowboy hats aplenty were seen on the plaza outside Rockefeller Center Friday, where fans lined up to see a performance by country music superstar Kenny Chesney. The singer is currently on the road for his "Goin' Coastal" tour. Chesney stopped in New York City for the Today Show's summer concert series en route to Philadelphia, where he will play a sold out show on Saturday.

Chesney played three songs on Friday, beginning with the fan favorite, "Beer in Mexico." He then surprised fans with a guest appearance by Grace Potter, lead singer of Grace Potter and the Nocturnals. Potter dueled with Chesney on the album single, "You and Tequila," which the two performed together Friday. The song is the new single on Chesney's latest album, Hemingway's Whiskey. Chesney closed the set with the song, "Somewhere With You."

Chesney is a longtime fixture in the Nashville music scene, and Hemingway's Whiskey is his 14th studio record. The singer, who is known for his charity work, recently played a concert in Tuscaloosa, Alabama and donated all of the proceeds to tornado relief funds, an event he spoke about to the Today Show audience. His tour will continue through summer, concluding August 28 in Foxboro, Mass.
