Kendall Jenner stole the show on the red carpet for the 2015 AmfAR New York gala on Wednesday night at Cipriani Wall Street in Manhattan.

Kendall Jenner’s AmFAR Gala Look

Jenner, 19, stunned in a crimson one-shoulder gown by Romona Keveza. She teamed the asymmetrical dress, which featured a high slit, with a pair of metallic pointy-toe pumps and Harry Winston jewels. In reference to the bling on her right hand, Jenner captioned a picture of herself sniffing a rose, “Diamonds Are Forever.”

Jenner, whose modeling profile has skyrocketed over the last year, appears on the cover of Allure‘s March issue. Inside the magazine, Jenner opened up about going through her awkward early teen years on TV.

“I had just started ninth grade when I got my acne,” she told Allure. “And I had braces. I wouldn’t look people in the eye. It was not a good time for me — it just killed my self-esteem. I thought when I didn’t look at someone, they couldn’t see my face. I still have a hard time looking at someone when I’m talking to them, and I get nervous.”

“[My sister] Kylie and I had to grow up in front of people, and it was hard sometimes … but it was never a negative thing,” Jenner added, “When I started getting in front of the camera a lot, I think my confidence started to come out. It took a minute because I had to believe in myself.”

As part of coming into her own, Jenner wants to carve out a career that’s separate from her family, with whom she stars on E!’s Keeping Up with the Kardashians. Speaking of her first-ever Marc Jacobs show last year, she admitted, “As selfish as this sounds, I wanted the attention to be on me for five seconds rather than my family.”
