Singer Kelly Clarkson is suing Brandon Blackstock, her ex-husband and former manager, for making improper business deals. Clarkson says Blackstock may owe her more than $2.6 million which he was previously ordered to pay.

The business deals date back to 2007 with connections to contracts from The Voice and the Billboard Music Awards. Clarkson claims Blackstock’s firm, Starstruck Management, conducted deals on the singer’s behalf.

After their divorce was finalized in 2022, Clarkson was ordered to pay Blackstock $1.3 million then $115,00 each month until January 2024 in spousal support. Clarkson also had to pay child support for their two sons.

Clarkson now seeks money back from Blackstock and Starstruck they received in connection to Clarkson’s name.

Last year, the California Labor Commission ordered Blackstock to pay $2,641,374 for fees received on behalf of Clarkson.

Blackstock’s attorney, Bryan Freeman, said in a statement, “It is morally, ethically and legally wrong to attempt to get monies back from your ex-husband who not only helped her as her manager but who used those earnings on their children and Kelly and Brandon’s lifestyle during the marriage.”

Clarkson has been in the news for her 40-pound weight loss since her divorce.
