Kelly Clarkson won another legal battle this week when a judge ruled that she gets to keep ownership of her ranch in Montana and prevent her from having to split the property with her former husband, Brandon Blackstock, as a part of the couple’s divorce.
The court cited the prenuptial agreement between the two signed before getting married, where the ranch was not listed as marital property. Blackstock is currently living on the ranch at the center of the dispute.
The two have been having a series of legal battles stemming from the divorce including a labor dispute over Clarkson’s position as a former client of Blackstock’s firm and custody over the couple’s children.
Clarkson filed for divorce last June citing irreconcilable differences as the reason.
Clarkson seems to have been having a hard time with the divorce and was unprepared for everything it would entail.
“I’ve been talking to friends that have been through a divorce,” Clarkson said on the Today Show last year. “I don’t know how people go through that without having some kind of outlet because it is the worst thing ever for everyone involved.”
