Kelly Clarkson Addresses Allegations Of Toxic Work Environment On Her Talk Show

Kelly Clarkson has responded to recent allegations of a toxic workplace on her daytime talk show.

On Friday night, she took to Instagram to write, “In my 20 years in the entertainment industry, I’ve always led with my heart and what I believed to be right. I love my team at The Kelly Clarkson Show, and to find out that anyone is feeling unheard and or disrespected on this show is unacceptable.”

Her remarks come after a Friday report from Rolling Stone claimed the show’s producers “overworked” and “underpaid” employees. Employees also said they were often bullied and that working on the show had a negative effect on their mental health.

The allegations come from one current and 10 former employees. The staffers singled out the show’s executive producer Alex Duda as the main person responsible for the toxic workplace culture. They stated that they had filed numerous reports to the human resources department but none of the behavior had changed. Instead, executive producers yelled at them for voicing their opinions.

Many of the employees said they “would be shocked if she [Clarkson] knew” what was going on behind the scenes.

Clarkson’s announcement continued, “Part of that build will include leadership training for all of the senior staff, including myself. There is always room to grow and ensure we are all being/becoming the best version of ourselves in any business. Especially when it comes to leadership, to ensure that any notion of toxicity is eradicated.”
