In a Tuesday morning interview on Australian radio station Mix 102.3’s Hayley & Max in the Morning, Keith Urban made a quick exit upon being asked about his feelings on his wife Nicole Kidman’s sex scenes in films.

Urban had called in as a guest on the show to promote his upcoming High and Alive World Tour, set to kick off on July 17 in Denver, Colorado.

At one point in the interview, hosts Hayley Peterson and Max Burford asked Urban to play a game called “Wall of Truth.”

Peterson explained, “We often get put into this situation where we have to answer a very tricky question, deeply personal question… I get really uncomfortable, to be honest, asking our beautiful guests something they might be uncomfortable [answering].”

The conversation proceeded until Burford asked Urban about Kidman’s 2024 Netflix movie A Family Affair, which features steamy scenes between Kidman and a younger man, portrayed by Zac Efron.

Burford inquired, “I thought, ‘What does Keith Urban think when he sees his beautiful wife with beautiful younger men like Zac Efron having these beautiful love scenes on TV?’”

Urban did not give an answer, but rather quickly disappeared from the Zoom call. Burford asked a producer, “What just happened here?” to which the producer could be heard responding, “He’s disconnected from Zoom.”

“I think his team hung up on us because they didn’t want us to ask that question…He’s gone, see ya Keith,” the producer said.

“Oh my god. I knew that would happen…We’ve upset him! He’s gone!” Peterson quipped.

Burford noted that Urban was smiling for the duration of the interview, and he was under the impression they were “vibing.” Peterson, however, mused, “He doesn’t like talking about his wife.”

“Does Keith Urban hate us?” Burford joked. “Do we have beef with Keith Urban?…If you knew this was going to happen, Hayley, why didn’t you stop me asking the question?”

Kidman and Urban have been married since 2006, and the couple shares two daughters, Sunday, 16, and Faith, 14.

In an interview with The Sun last October, Kidman spoke about her experience filming sex scenes for her risqué movie Babygirl, saying, “There was an enormous amount of sharing and trust and then frustration.”

She continued, “I’ve always been on a quest as an actor… I’m always going, where have I not been? And what can I explore as a human being? And this was an area I’d never been.”
