Ke$ha Concert Canceled: Singer Defends Not Playing In Malaysia

Ke$ha was scheduled to perform in Malaysia on Saturday, but officials claimed that Ke$ha’s concert was canceled because it was found unfit for the country. In response to fans who are disappointed she didn’t go on with the concert, Ke$ha has said that it wasn't an option.

Authorities in the Muslim-majority nation felt that if Ke$ha’s show went on as planned that it would “hurt cultural and religious sensitivities,” according to MSN. The decision to ban her performance at Kuala Lumpur stadium was last minute, affecting the thousands of ticket holders.

If it had been up to Ke$ha, the show would have gone on. The “Blow“ singer took to Twitter following the cancellation to explain that it was not her decision.

Ke$ha added on Instagram: “yesterday was hard for me…. i just wanna share my music and life with you guys. can't wait to let you in more in 4 days #mycrazybeautifullife.”

Livescape Asia, the promoters behind the concert, backed up Ke$ha, revealing that the artist had been willing to compromise by adjusting her lyrics and wardrobe. "Livescape would… like to go on record to applaud and thank Ke$ha and her team for working closely with us,” a statement from the company read. “And having agreed to modify the show to suit the Malaysian culture and sensitivities."
