Katy Perry recently came out with a perfume named Mad Love. But social media wags suspect that the name of the product is a jab at rival Taylor Swift.
The feud between Perry and Swift began when three dancers – Lockhart Brownlie, Scott Myrick, and Leah Adler – touring with Swift quit in order to work with Perry, for a second time in 2013.
“For years, I was never sure if we were friends or not,” Swift told Rolling Stone. “Then last year, the other star crossed a line. She did something so horrible, I was like, ‘Oh, we’re just straight-up enemies.'”
Swift confirmed the source of the feud when she revealed, “It had to do with business. She basically tried to sabotage an entire arena tour. She tried to hire a bunch of people out from under me.”
After the interview came out Perry tweeted:
To add to the catfight, Perry started dating John Mayer, Swifts ex from 2009, in the summer of 2012.
Swift debuted the song “Bad Blood” in 2014. With lyrics thought to be directed to Perry, Swift sings, “You know it used to be mad love, but baby now we got bad blood.”
While Perry might be taking a shot at Swift with her new fragrance, it could possibly be a coincidence since her last fragrance was named Mad Poison.
