Katy Perry Visits UNLV Campus To Encourage Students To Vote For Hillary Clinton

Katy Perry visited the University of Nevada – Las Vegas campus over the weekend to meet with students and encourage them to vote for Hillary Clinton in the upcoming election.

KATY PERRY CAMPAIGNS FOR CLINTON

The singer wore a t-shirt that read “Nasty Woman,” which has become a mantra for Clinton supporters after Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump uttered the insult at Clinton during the last debate.

“We’re out here campaigning for Hillary Clinton,” Perry informed three young women. “Ever heard of her? Because there’s no other alternative. We need our issues heard, we need our bodies taken care of, we need all that choice.”

Perry spoke with hundreds of students and gave a speech to a large crowd. She did not sing any of her famous hits, such as “Teenage Dream” or “Waking Up in Vegas,” though the school blasted the songs through speakers as she met with students.

Perry campaigned with Nevada Senate hopeful Catherine Cortez Masto. Both the presidential and senate races will be close in Nevada, and experts think it will ultimately come down to how many people show up and vote on Nov. 8. Nevada also has a two-week early voting period, which many Democrats have been advertising.

This is Perry’s second political stop in Nevada – she appeared in 2012 to show support for Barack Obama, and in a dress designed to look like a ballot. Additionally, the pop artist did a segment with Madonna where she went to vote in the nude.
