Katy Perry found herself in a bit of trouble Wednesday evening when she got stuck suspended in the air above a concert crowd in Nashville.

The singer was suspended in the air over a large planet as part of her concert set. Presumably, the chair she was sitting on was supposed to be lowered during the song, but something went wrong and she couldn’t get down. “This is the first time I’ve been stuck in space,” the 32-year-old joked to the audience, who hadn’t realized the problem yet. “I know I’m kind of a space cadet, but actually this thing is being stuck right now. They’re low-key talking to me in my ear right now, it’s a whole big thing. You’d better pick your phone up because this is a YouTube-able moment… I could be stuck here forever.”

She entertained the crowd for a few moments while the crew determined what to do. “Should I tell some jokes, should I tell some stories? Should I just sing another song?” the singer mused to the cheering crowd.

Eventually, Perry got word from her crew that she would be lowered straight down, but she refused because that would mean potentially hurting her concert-goers. “You know what, I guess I’m just going to have to get down and walk amongst my people. I love this so much,” she said. “Should I just like…jump?”

The video of the incident, that’s now become viral, ends with the singer leaping form the suspended platform, and being safely caught by fans and venue employees. “Ya’ll are the real stars tonight,” Perry told her fans.
