Katie Holmes Denies Reports That Daughter Suri Cruise Has Trust Fund From Dad Tom Cruise: ‘Completely False’

Katie Holmes has refuted claims that her daughter, Suri Cruise, recently became a millionaire due to a trust fund from her father, Tom Cruise. On Dec. 8, the 45-year-old actress addressed a Daily Mail report suggesting Suri, now 18, gained access to the fund upon turning 18 in April and that she also has an additional trust fund from Holmes.

“Completely false,” Holmes wrote on Instagram, sharing a screenshot of the article with the caption, “Enough. Daily Mail, you can stop making stuff up.”

Holmes has consistently sought to shield Suri from unwanted media attention.

In an April 2023 interview with Glamour, the Dawson’s Creek alum shared her commitment to keeping her daughter out of the spotlight after being highly visible during her early years. “What has been really important for me with my daughter, because she was so visible at a young age, is I really like to protect her,” Holmes said. “I’m very grateful to be a parent, to be her parent. She’s an incredible person.”

This summer, Holmes and Suri were seen celebrating the teen’s high school graduation in New York City. Photos showed the mother-daughter duo posing together as Suri wore a red cap and gown over a white dress. The ceremony program listed her name as “Suri Noelle,” omitting her father’s surname.

Holmes and Tom Cruise welcomed Suri in 2006, but their marriage ended in 2012. Since their split, Holmes has spoken openly about her close bond with her daughter. In 2022, Holmes dedicated her directorial debut film, Rare Objects, to Suri, who also contributed vocals to the film’s soundtrack, as she did for Holmes’ previous project, Alone Together.

Holmes shared her joy in collaborating with her daughter during her Glamour interview. “It was very meaningful to me to have her there because she’s my heart,” she said. “I hope she always does something on my films.” Holmes described her work environment as a “safe, beautiful, creative space,” which she loves sharing with her daughter.

Now an 18-year-old college student, Suri reportedly has “no contact” with her famous father.
