Kathryn Edwards wishes that the topic of O.J. Simpson hadn’t been brought up during her debut on Real Housewives of Beverly Hills.

Edwards’ first appearance on the reality TV show was made at Lisa Vanderpump’s Hero Dog Awards party. While Edwards and Lisa Rinna go way back and remain acquaintances, it was more or less Edwards’ first introduction to the rest of the women. It wasn’t long before the conversation at the table turned to O.J., which Edwards blames on Rinna.

“Lisa Rinna is someone I have known for over 20 years, and although we hadn’t kept in contact over time, she’s always someone I enjoy running into. Her energy and humor are in a league of their own, so of course I was happy to see her at Lisa Vanderpump’s charity event,” Edwards wrote in her blog. “What I wasn’t happy about was that the first thing out of her mouth was O.J…really? OK, if that’s what you think when you see me, I guess I haven’t made much of any impression on you. Beside the fact that I don’t think Rinna ever saw me once with O.J., but whatever…I’ll give her new memories.”

What is Edwards’ connection to Simpson? There were once persistent rumors that her ex-husband Marcus Allen had an affair with Nicole Brown Simpson before she was murdered. The rumors gained a second life when Kyle Richards’ close pal Faye Resnick published a tell-all while O.J. was on trial for Nicole and Ronald Goldman’s murders.

“Listening to the ladies talk about me and something that happened so tragically 22 years ago was disappointing…not the way I want to start off new friendships,” Edwards wrote. “Had I known that there was so much filling in the blanks based on hearsay, I might have thought twice about drinks, but alas…the treat of viewing the conversations after the fact.”

During the show and on her blog, Edwards claimed that she has never met Resnick, let alone ever considered her a friend. While she was accused of being defensive when the topic of O.J. Simpson was brought up, Edwards says it was less than that.

“I think ‘irritated’ is a better word than defensive, because for years I got a bad taste in my mouth at the thought of Faye Resnick for a litany of reasons–not all personal to me–but nonetheless, I’m not a fan,” Edwards explained. “I know Kyle and Faye are friends, so I can only surmise that there must be something that I don’t see in Faye, something redeeming. People can change, right?”

The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills airs Tuesdays on Bravo at 9 p.m. EST.
