Katherine Russell Tsarnaev Refuses To Comment On Boston Bombing, Late Husband Tamerlan Tsarnaev

Katherine Russell, the widow of the late alleged Boston Marathon bomber Tamerlan Tsarnaev, continues to be tight-lipped when posed questions about the case.

Nearly three months since the tragic incident at the marathon’s finish line, and now after Dzhokhar Tsarnaev pled not guilty to all 30 charges he faces on Wednesday, many still have questions regarding Russell’s knowledge of the bomb plot. Yesterday, reporters followed Russell as she ran errands in suburban Rhode Island, hoping to get some answers from her.

“Did you see a change in him [Tamerlan] after he went to Russia?” “Did you know he was building bombs?” “What do you want to say to the victims and their families?” WCVB Team 5’s Kathy Curran asked. “You didn’t know he was ordering parts online or target practice in New Hampshire?” "Katherine, you have a child, your husband is accused of killing a child and other innocent people, you don't want to say anything to us?"

Russell declined to answer all of the reporter’s questions.

Although silent when it comes to the media, Russell has reportedly been cooperating with federal law enforcement. “She understands the need for talking to investigators,” Russell’s lawyer, Amato DeLuco told the MailOnline. “This is the way the government looks at it and she understands this is a threat to national security.”

In recent days, Russell, who converted to Islam while dating Tamerlan Tsarnaev, seems to be rejecting some of the religion’s more strict guidelines. Last week, it was reported that she now dines at fast food restaurants and elects to wear nail police.
